Welcome to QWANT JUNIOR!
The purpose of the following General Terms of Service (hereafter known as TOS) are to define the terms and conditions of use of our products and services.
QWANT JUNIOR principally provides a free and dynamic search engine that updates in real-time, for users aged from 6 to 13 years of age, accessible via its site https://www.qwantjunior.com (hereafter ‘Services’).
As the representative of the underage user, you acknowledge that the latter has the competency and necessary facilities to access and use our Services. Use of our Services implies the acceptance of the present TOS. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time in order to adapt them to the development of QWANT’s Services and/or use thereof. You will be informed by email and/or any other suitable notification of any significant changes to these TOS, prior to their implementation.
NB: The French text constitutes the official version and will prevail in case of conflict between the two versions of the present TOS.
Accessibility of the Services
We inform you that the Services are accessible 24/7 and that this access may nonetheless be interrupted in the case of unforeseen events or technical difficulties. QWANT will not be held accountable for malfunction of the system or the servers or any other event outside of our control that prevents or affects access to the Services. We reserve the right to interrupt, temporarily suspend or modify without notice access to some or all of our Services, in order to carry out tests, servicing or maintenance but interruption, suspension or modification will not result in any obligation or compensation. We will try to inform you beforehand. You also undertake to monitor the user so that they do not use the Services in an inappropriate manner (for example, by accessing the Services, servers, computers or databases related to the Services without permission, by launching denial-of-service attacks or by introducing harmful or malicious material) at the risk of legal proceedings. We reserve the right to refuse access to the Services to any user not complying with the TOS.
Use of software
Some of our Services may require the use of downloadable software (such as our mobile app or various browser extensions). QWANT grants you a free, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive worldwide license for use of software provided by our Services. This license is only for the purpose of allowing the user to use and benefit from our Services in compliance with the TOS, excluding any right to copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent all or part of the software. This also applies to the right to decompile or extract the source code of the software, except in the case that the right to decompile is authorised by the law and within the limits laid out by said law.
Information made available by the Services
The information provided by the Services are solely of an informative nature. We will try to ensure the accuracy of information updated in real-time made available by the Services. However, we can neither guarantee that the results and information obtained are free from any error or flaw, nor guarantee the completeness, recentness, accuracy, comprehensiveness or lack of modification by a third party.
Therefore, we deny any responsibility of any kind:
- in case of vagueness, inaccuracy, lack of updates, error or omission in information made available by the Services;
- unavailability of information;
- for any damages, direct or indirect, whatever their cause, origin, nature or consequence, resulting from accessing any of our Services or the inability to do so;
- for use of the Services and/or credence given to information provided directly or indirectly by the Services;
- for decisions made on the basis of information provided by the Services and the use of this information by a third party;
- in case of a conflict between the information provided, the Services offered and your needs.
Hypertext links
We provide hypertext links to other internet sites or other sources of information edited and/or managed by third parties, in order to improve the relevancy of your browsing. Because we cannot control the content of these external sites, you acknowledge that we assume no responsibility for the provision of these resources, their content, potential collection and transmission of personal data, installation of cookies or any other similar methods used by these sites.
Multidisciplinary activities
QWANT also offers other services, such as its classic search engine available at https://www.qwant.com and its lite version at https://lite.qwant.com. A feed aggregator and an online publishing service is also available at https://boards.qwant.com, offered in a junior version at https://qwantjunior.com/carnets.
You acknowledge that specific terms relating to individual services may apply in terms of use of these services.
Partnerships directly linked to the services concerned
We inform you that partnerships directly linked to one or several of QWANT’s services are in force. Where they may influence the ranking or search engine optimization of content, goods or services offered or posted online, the user will be informed on the page concerned.
Intellectual property
All rights reserved, QWANT JUNIOR® is a trademark of the QWANT company. Any partial or total reproduction of this trademark and its logo in any way, particularly for commercial purposes, without the prior and written consent of QWANT is forbidden under penalty of legal action.
The Services, as well as the elements that constitute them or are accessible from these Services (other than your content, images, videos, text accessed through hyperlinks or the content of other users), such as texts, images, software, databases, tabs and features are the exclusive property of QWANT and are protected by intellectual property law.
The various texts, images, photographs, visual interfaces, graphics, trademarks, logos, sounds, musical extracts, illustrations and videos accessible via the Services from hypertext links, may be subject to specific intellectual property laws. We will not be held responsible for any breach, damage, loss, claim, infringement action or unfair competition by way of use of our Services, nor any illicit use of our Services, fraudulent use or attempts to bypass protection measures.
Reporting content
When a request to delist content on QWANT JUNIOR is received, if you receive a positive response from us, we remind you that the content may remain available and accessible via other search engines or by typing the URL in the search bar of your browser. It is up to you to contact the person responsible for the publication and/or the host of the sites concerned to request the permanent removal of the content in question.
In the event that you notice content that may relate to apologies for crimes against humanity, provocation to or apologies for acts of terrorism, incitement to racial hatred, towards people on the basis of their sex, their sexual orientation or identity or handicap, child pornography, incitement to violence, attacks on human dignity, when browsing the Services, you have the option to let us know by contacting us at the address legal@qwant.net (also available at our FAQ).

Qwant Junior account
If the underage user that you represent creates a user account, you assume complete responsibility for information entered during registration or during any modification of the account. We do not access their profile and deny all responsibility for its content. You assume the responsibility to take all necessary measures to preserve the confidentiality of the underage user’s password. You can consult the rules for password creation and good security management listed here.
This account can be deleted at any time from the profile page by clicking the words ‘Delete my qwantjunior.com account’. All information linked to the account will be then deleted within seven days from the deletion request. Within this period, it is possible to reactivate the account by using the original username and password.
If the underage user wishes to save their data and content, you will have to organise its transfer prior to the account’s deletion.
Data protection
QWANT’S policies with regard to respecting the privacy of its users meets a very high standard. Generally, QWANT does not collect data during regular use of its Services.
Processing of information requests as well as registration for certain Services may nonetheless require users to communicate personal data such as their name, surname, address and email address. This data is collected and processed by QWANT in conformity with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy aims to explain how Qwant protects your privacy and in particular:
- technical management of the account or accounts of the user of the available Services;
- management of requests and applications;
- management of delisting requests and requests relating to rights of access, rectification and deletion of personal data;
- securing of QWANT’s data system;
- conforming to our legal and reglementary obligations

Cookies and other trackers
We do not use cookies or any other ad tracker (pixel, fingerprinting) when the user browses our Services.
The only technology that may be installed on their computer, named ‘local storage’, is used to save browsing settings (language, activation or deactivation of trend settings, adult filter and ‘favicon’).
You have the option to delete the ‘local storage’ data by deactivating cookies with the help of the browser’s toolbar. However, this may prevent the user from accessing some features of the Services, for example the browsing settings.
Applicable law
The Services and their TOS are subject to French law, wherever they may be used.
. In the event of that amicable solutions fail or are not sought, any dispute arising from these provisions may be brought before the competent courts.
